DUBLIN and HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Feb. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Endo International plc (NASDAQ: ENDP) (TSX: ENL) today announced that it has funded the creation of a new scholarship program designed to make higher education more accessible for the next generation of Huntsville, Alabama leaders. The newly created Qualitest Scholarship Program is a $50,000 education initiative that reflects Endo's dedication to the legacy of Qualitest, which was recently renamed Par Pharmaceutical as a result of Endo's acquisition of Par Pharmaceutical Holdings, Inc., and to the employees and residents living in the Huntsville, Alabama region.

"Over the past 30+ years, Qualitest has grown along with the Huntsville community, and through generations of colleagues' hard work, this business has been successfully built into the fourth largest manufacturing employer in the area," said Rajiv De Silva, President and CEO of Endo. "Qualitest and its generics portfolio have been an important part of Endo's business since we acquired the company in 2010 and we are pleased to demonstrate our appreciation of Huntsville, as well as support the higher education goals of the community. We hope that the Qualitest Scholarship Program will make college more accessible for Huntsville's future leaders."
